Dutch Oven Dump Cake

I found this recipe years ago and am now copying it here from our family cookbook binder. Enjoy!



Dutch Oven Dump Cake
1 cake mix                                                               
1 large can pie filling
1 can soda pop

Place pie filling on bottom of Dutch oven.  Then add cake mix.  Pour one can of soda pop on top, do not stir, cover and bake for 35-40 minutes.  For the number of briquettes, take the diameter of the Dutch Oven (so, for example a 12 inch Dutch oven) and add 2 more for the number that go underneath, and add 4 more to that number for what goes on top (so 14 underneath and 16 on top).

Some favor ideas might be; chocolate pie filling, chocolate cake mix, and chocolate Shasta pop… or peach pie filling, yellow cake mix, 7-up pop… or apple pie filling, cinnamon cake mix, 7-up pop… whatever sounds good to you.
