Peanut Blossoms

I found this recipe years ago and am now copying it here from our family cookbook binder. Enjoy!

Peanut Blossoms

Ingredients:

• 1 ¾ cups flour
• 1 tsp. soda
• ½ tsp. salt
• ½ cup sugar
• ½ cup brown sugar
• 48 milk chocolate candy kisses
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 1 egg
• 2 Tbl milk
• 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients (except kisses).  
2. Mix slowly until dough forms.  
3. Shape into balls and roll in sugar.  
4. Bake on un-greased sheet at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.  
5. Top each cookie immediately with candy kisses, press down.
