Rich N' Thick Hot Chocolate

I found this recipe years ago and am now copying it here from our family cookbook binder. Enjoy!

Rich N’ Thick Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

• 1 cup water
• 2 squares/bars unsweetened baking chocolate
• ½ cup sugar
• 3 cups milk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• mini marshmallows

Directions:

1. Place water and chocolate in a medium sized heavy saucepan; cook on low heat until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly with wire whisk.  
2. Add sugar, mix well.  Bring to a boil on medium-high heat.  
3. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly.  
4. Gradually add milk, stirring with wire whisk until well blended.  
5. Stir in vanilla.  
6. Reduce heat to medium.  
7. Cook until mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally.  Serve with marshmallows, if desired.
