Six Sister's Stuff Slow Cooker Creamy Spaghetti Recipe

Another hit from Six Sisters stuff... this slow cooker recipe was a big hit with our family. The only change I made was to use 1/2 sausage and 1/2 hamburger, but otherwise, it worked out perfectly as written. We LOVED it!

Six Sister's Stuff Slow Cooker Creamy Spaghetti
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (or 1/2 sausage 1/2 hamburger)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 3 (24 ounce) jars of pasta sauce
  • 1 pound spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated or powder)
  • 4 ounces fat free cream cheese
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth
Directions:
  1. Brown Italian sausage in a medium skillet on stove top until completely cooked through. Season sausage with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  2. Pour one jar of pasta sauce in the bottom of slow cooker. Break all spaghetti noodles in half and place on top of sauce.
  3. Pour browned sausage over noodles and sprinkle on Parmesan cheese.
  4. Cut cream cheese into bite-sized pieces and place on top of cheese. Pour another jar of pasta sauce over cream cheese.
  5. Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on high (? see note below) for 3 hours. After 3 hours, remove lid and stir contents of the slow cooker. Pour in the last jar of pasta sauce and can of chicken broth.
  6. Replace lid and cook another hour on low or until ready to serve.
  7. Depending on how hot your slow cooker is, things can get dry during the cooking process, so keep an eye on things and add more sauce or liquid as needed until you get familiar with how it cooks for you.
Marsha's Notes:
06-05-2025: We made this as a dinner to take over to Donna Fae's and I started cooking the meat to put in the bottom of the pot at 2:00 pm. Did everything exactly as written and checked on the pot after about an hour to just stir things and break up the noodles a bit in the sauce so they didn't cook in a clump. I went ahead and added the rest of the stock and sauce at this point. Checked on it again at about 4:15 and everything seemed pretty much done. So the entire pot cooked on High for about 2 hours and was ready to go, which is about half the time the original recipe calls for, so I am thinking that maybe where the recipe says to cook on HIGH that you really need to cook it on LOW. Next time I make this, I will try cooking it on LOW and report back if the times were more accurate. Either way, I just turned the pot down to WARM until we were ready to head over to Donna Fae's, and it was perfectly fine to just sit until about 6:00 pm. when we ate.
